Sure, the hottest rookie on the field last year was Kurt Warner. Off the field however, collectors couldn't get enough of Edgerrin James. There were plenty of other first year phenoms who also gave a glimmer of hope to their fans.
J & T Sports has ranked last years rookies taking into account their possible impact on the market.
1) Cade McNown--Chicago
Chicago did the right thing by slowly leading Cade along his rookie season. His cards are towards the middle as far as price goes and with the Bears looking to improve greatly collectors should start taking note!
2) Edgerrin James--Indianapolis
If it wasn't for Warner this guy would have stole the show in 1999! His cards are already high priced but don't expect a let down. He will again put up great numbers on a great young Colts team.
3) Shaun King--Tampa Bay
The Bucs are now the team to beat in the NFC (Sorry Rams fans). A much improved offense was needed so they went out and hired a new Off. Co-ordinator. Shaun will be ten times greater than Dilfer because he is a young gun eager to open up a passing game. SEE CADE McNOWN
4) Tim Couch--Browns
This was the number one pick who most everyone is forgetting about. He has All Pro potential so don't be afraid to pick up some of his rookie cards!
5) Akili Smith--Bengals
Leave Boomer alone already! This guy is your man! The first year may be a struggle but at least get him in there. If he gets to start, watch out for some big points in Cincy!
